About this role
Do you want to work in Sweden's economic hub and contribute to the development of an agency in constant change? We are now looking for an operational strategist who wants to help shape the future of the Riksbank.
About the Role
As an operational strategist, you will be an important support to the management – particularly the head of staff and the deputy head of staff – in the work of analyzing, prioritizing, and developing operations. You will play a key role in creating clear governance, high-quality analyses, and efficient processes, both within the Staff Department and for the Riksbank as a whole.
You will:
• Develop and improve methods and processes for coordinating and preparing operational development and subject matters, with a focus on quality and efficiency.
• Participate in operational planning, prioritization, and follow-up in close collaboration with relevant functions to ensure a holistic view and delivery capability.
• Collaborate broadly within the organization to analyze the current situation, identify development needs, and produce well-founded decision-making materials.
• Strengthen structure, direction, and long-term development in a complex and socially significant organization.
What We Offer
This is a broad and exciting role where you will have the opportunity to influence at a strategic level and contribute to an operation that has great significance for society as a whole. You will collaborate with competent and engaged colleagues who have high ambitions and a strong focus on development and shared learning.
What You Will Do With Us
In the role of operational strategist, you will:
• Identify development needs based on the Riksbank's goals, vision, and strategic direction. Conduct external and operational analyses to support management decisions.
• Follow up on the effects and results of change and development initiatives. Initiate and drive improvement work for increased efficiency and quality. Participate in or lead cross-departmental initiatives and projects.
• Propose adjustments in governance, processes, and working methods based on evaluations and lessons learned.
• Produce well-founded decision-making materials and ensure buy-in from management and employees.
Your Team
The Riksbank consists of nine departments. You will belong to the Staff Department and report directly to the deputy head of staff. Together, you are responsible for driving central, cross-departmental processes within both operational development and subject matters. The department also serves as an analytical and organizational support to the head of staff, including the development of the department's internal working methods and structure.
Here, you will work closely with management and have a central role in shaping and developing both the department's and the Riksbank's overall operations.
More About You
We are looking for someone who has:
• Strong strategic and analytical abilities, with a keen interest in societal issues.
• Documented experience in change management, operational development, or project management.
• Excellent knowledge of operational governance, process development, and organizational issues.
• The ability to communicate clearly, build trust, and collaborate with various parts of an organization.
• A solution-oriented and structured ability to drive work forward even in complex contexts. Previous experience working closely with management teams or central support functions.
• Several years of experience in strategic development work in larger or complex organizations.
• Very good proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
It is advantageous if you have:
• Experience from the public sector or governmental agencies.
You hold an academic degree in fields such as political science, economics, organizational development, social sciences, or another relevant area.
