About this role
**Description**
Are you an engaged and experienced leader who is passionate about contributing to our students' educational experience? Then this could be the role for you.
We are seeking two operational managers for the School Administration's services in Meals, Cleaning, and Maintenance. With us, you will work alongside 1,150 dedicated employees who, in their various roles, provide services to the municipal primary schools of Gothenburg by offering nutritious meals and ensuring safe, well-maintained facilities. We work together as a team with colleagues and our schools to provide students with the best possible conditions for success every day.
As our operational manager, you will play a crucial role in developing our operations to meet future challenges in our areas. It is important to us that you are a responsive leader who enjoys collaboration, has a strong sense of service, and is passionate about sustainability issues.
We are currently reviewing our organization to identify and develop a more efficient structure for how we govern and lead our operations. The main goal of this is to ensure a clear distribution of responsibilities and strengthen management's ability to work strategically. Ultimately, it is about creating the best conditions for us to support the educational activities and its core mission optimally. This evaluation is expected to be completed by January 2026 and may impact the operational manager role.
**Responsibilities**
As an operational manager, you will have overall responsibility for goals, quality, personnel, results, and finances within the operations. This means you will lead, manage, coordinate, and develop the services for meals, cleaning, and maintenance, as well as make decisions according to overarching and long-term operational goals, guidelines, and governing documents.
You will share the responsibility for the management and governance of 1,150 employees, including 45 unit managers, various assignments, and processes within the operations, while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to create the best conditions for the School Administration's students.
Your role will also include responsibility for the resource function assignment, which means being the coordinating force in the city to ensure food supply and emergency catering when the community faces serious stress.
You will participate in the department's management group and be responsible for ensuring that cross-administrative decisions and processes are implemented in the operations.
A significant part of your work will be to ensure that services and support are tailored to the administration's needs to provide good conditions for higher goal fulfillment. This means you will work with both operational and strategic support for the operations.
Given the size of the operations, close collaboration with the other operational manager is essential for success in your joint mission. One operational manager will be the process owner for meals, while the other will be the process owner for cleaning and maintenance.
As an operational manager, you will work closely with educational managers, principals, and other managers within the administration, and you will need to collaborate with them to create the best conditions for the School Administration's students. You will also work with several other administrations within Gothenburg City.
We welcome your application! We plan to conduct interviews at the end of week 50.
