Nordanstig Municipality is located in northern Hälsingland near Sweden's central point between Hudiksvall and Sundsvall. Your Assignment
The municipality is in a development phase, and as Director of Growth and Service, you will be a key part of Nordanstig's exciting future. The department is responsible for development, operation, and new construction of municipal properties, community development, exploitation, and recycling. The department also holds the overall responsibility for our important service mandate in catering and cleaning, as well as business, tourism, culture, and leisure activities. Growth and Service has over 90 employees, with six directly reporting managers. We have short decision-making paths and good cooperation with municipal politicians. Follow-up and evaluation are a natural part of daily operations.
In the coming years, new operational facilities will be built, and community planning is now being revised to better suit the municipality's strategic objectives.
You will have budget, results, and personnel responsibility, reporting directly to the municipal CEO and being part of the municipal management team. You will become part of a network of strategic managers in the Sundsvall region and Hälsingland, as well as other regional networks.
Qualifications
We are seeking someone with leadership experience in community development and/or property issues. It is meritorious if you have led other managers, but you can also be a unit manager looking to develop your leadership skills. You have the ability to lead the organization towards municipal goals together with your managers. You have experience in successfully developing processes to efficiently and transparently achieve operational objectives. You are articulate in speech and writing, have strong communication skills, and appreciate networking as the position involves collaboration with multiple contact points. The ability to combine business acumen with public benefit is also sought in this role.
To succeed, you must move confidently between everyday complexity and long-term strategic work.
As a person, you are responsible and confident, with a good ability to make decisions, create structure, and provide clarity. To succeed in the role, we seek a candidate with a college degree that the employer deems relevant.
