The Salvation Army is now seeking a Program Manager for Sagahemmet in Uppsala - a supportive housing facility for adults with harmful use or dependency, often in combination with mental health issues, as well as a night shelter for women experiencing homelessness. About the Role
As Program Manager, you will have overall responsibility for leading, developing, and ensuring the quality of the operations. You will ensure that the operations are conducted in line with the values of the Salvation Army, applicable legislation, and the municipality's assignment. The role involves both strategic and operational responsibilities, with a strong emphasis on being present in daily work.
Your main responsibilities will include:
* Leading and organizing daily operations at the facility
* Managing staff, work environment, finances, and quality assurance
* Ensuring that implementation plans are followed and reported to the municipality
* Collaborating with social services, healthcare, police, and other partners
* Driving the development of the operations based on the National Board of Health and Welfare's quality indicators
Qualifications
You are a confident, clear, and attentive leader who easily builds trust and relationships. You have a genuine commitment to people in vulnerable situations and share the values of the Salvation Army.
We believe you are structured, solution-oriented, and have a strong ability to plan, drive, and follow up on operations independently. You are fearless in your interactions with people and thrive in a daily environment that is both dynamic and meaningful.
We are looking for someone who has:
* A degree in social work
* Several years of experience working with the target group
* Several years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role
* Good knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and directives
Meritorious:
* Experience in the non-profit sector or church-related activities
* Knowledge of documentation systems such as Idok
* Experience in crisis management
* Good understanding of the new Social Services Act
Scope/Conditions
* Full-time
* Permanent (starting with a 6-month probationary period)
* Start date: March 1, 2026, or by agreement
* Location: Central Uppsala with the possibility of remote work one day a week
* A background check is mandatory for the final candidate
