About this role

Do you want to lead the school of the future in Halmstad? Do you want to help create the best possible conditions for learning and development for the municipality's children and students? As the Operations Manager for primary and adapted primary schools, you will play a key role in leading and developing an operation that makes a difference for children and youth. With us, you will have the opportunity to influence within a large organization where we work together to make a difference! What you will do As the Operations Manager for primary schools, you will have both strategic and operational responsibilities, where you, together with other operations managers, lead efforts to improve student outcomes, increase equity, and ensure sound financial management. You will have direct responsibility for workplace environment, personnel, and budget matters for several schools and principals, and you will be part of the management team of the department, contributing to the overall goal of providing a good education for all children and students in the municipality. Collaboration with unions is a natural part of the role. Development work within the school system is currently a focus, with the goal of creating a context where the municipality's schools work more closely together. Therefore, the role involves both leading your own operations and collaborating with two other operations managers for schools to create a cohesive environment where the municipality's schools cooperate for the best possible results. Examples of tasks: - Lead principals through regular meetings and support them in strategic and daily decisions. - Address guardians in complaint matters and handle complex issues with confidence. - Collaborate with the child and student unit regarding student placements and maintain close contact with the central child and student health services. - Drive development work that strengthens collaboration between schools and within the department. - Work with the school organization to create attractive and sustainable conditions for principals and staff. - Actively participate in the department's management team and contribute to decisions that benefit the entire organization. - Follow up and analyze the operation's results to initiate improvement efforts. You will be met by a manager who leads with trust and a focus on development-oriented leadership. Here, you will have significant authority and freedom to take responsibility, while your manager is accessible and close by when you need support. Collaboration and cooperation are central, and the municipality's residents are always the focus. Who you are You have the ability to see the big picture and think long-term, while also being willing to make decisions that lead to development. You are confident in driving change and find solutions even when circumstances change rapidly. In a daily environment that can be both complex and eventful, you maintain calm and act with assurance, which builds trust among those you lead. You build strong relationships and collaborate closely with colleagues and principals to achieve common goals. You share knowledge and create space for others to contribute, so that together we can make a difference for children and students. Your ability to combine strategic thinking with operational leadership allows you to prioritize and maintain direction, even when the pace is high. Your experiences We are looking for someone who has: - A relevant higher education degree, preferably in pedagogy - At least one year of experience working comprehensively with educational issues within the Swedish school system - Experience in leading managers - Experience as a principal and completed principal training - Documented experience in leading efforts towards improved school results. It is advantageous if you have experience from another department or public sector. What we offer With us, you will find security and balance in your work life – with a collective agreement, the possibility of salary exchange for pension, and vacation exchange for increased flexibility. You will have 25 vacation days until the age of 39, 31 days from age 40, and 32 days from age 50. In addition, we offer wellness benefits, company bicycles, gyms, health coaches, and health consultations in the year you turn 40, to ensure your well-being and sustainability in the long run. You will work based on trust time in a vacation position with the possibility of remote work. You will also become part of a team where operations managers support and help each other, along with strong support from well-developed support functions. Other To ensure the quality of the recruitment process at Halmstad Municipality and facilitate good communication with our applicants, we ask you to submit your application digitally.
