About this role

Vara Municipality Seeks Experienced Operations Manager for Elderly Care As an Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in shaping and leading our operations towards a future where our elderly citizens can live a safe, healthy, and meaningful life. Your Role As Operations Manager, you will have total responsibility for operations, finances, work environment, and personnel within your area of responsibility. You will lead the area through competent and committed managers. You will play a key role in monitoring external developments, conducting investigations and analyses, and mapping important areas – all to drive improvements and develop the operation forward. You will also drive development work within the operation, focusing on strategic issues and initiating and developing collaboration both within and outside the municipality. Your Knowledge and Experience You have relevant higher education in the field and several years of experience in a leadership position, preferably within a politically governed organization. Experience in elderly care and leading managers is meritorious. As a leader, you have the courage to make decisions from a holistic perspective and serve as a role model for your employees. You have documented leadership experience and good knowledge of the laws and regulations governing the operation. Additionally, you have experience with budget work and a good understanding of economics and quality follow-up. Your Future Workplace As Operations Manager for Elderly Care, you will be part of the Social Administration's management team together with Operations Managers for Individual and Family Care, Disability Support, Labor Market, and the department's staff. We are facing an exciting time with the new Social Services Act that emphasizes preventive work, participation, and trust. In Vara, we work to translate these values into practice – in a culture shaped by our ethical compass, characterized by welcoming, holistic view, creativity, and sustainability. Here, you will help shape the future of social services, where we together create value for those we serve. At Vara Municipality, you will find engaged colleagues and managers, training and development opportunities, and benefits such as wellness contributions. All employees are also members of our Recreation Association, which organizes exercise activities and other leisure and cultural activities, including discounts for certain events at Vara Concert Hall. At Vara Municipality, we make each other better, and it is together with our ethical compass that we reach our common goals!
