Operations Manager Bollnäs
Equestrian Association
Municipality: Bollnäs
Scope: Part-time
Duration: Permanent
Employment Type: Permanent or fixed-term employment
About the Job:
Bollnäs Equestrian Association (BRS) is a non-profit organization with approximately 400 members. BRS serves as an important gathering place for many children, youth, and adults who spend a significant part of their leisure time at the facility for training, recreation, and exercise. There is space for everyone, from beginners to competitive riders. The association has a very active and well-functioning youth section, as well as competition and training activities. Our newly built training facility allows us to broaden our own operations and increase collaboration with other associations.
BRS owns the property and facility, which includes an indoor riding arena with two riding arenas and two outdoor arenas. We lease surrounding land where we have a cross-country course, pastures, and also source our roughage from there. The stable accommodates 32 horses, of which about half are for lesson horses and the remainder are rented out to private horse owners.
We are a quality-assured riding school according to the Swedish Equestrian Federation and offer something for everyone. We have a wide range of groups for children, youth, and adults at all levels, from riders who want to learn the basics of riding to those who ride at a higher level. We also offer riding for individuals with special needs, private training, courses, camps, and mounted activities. We have a close collaboration with RF-SISU and are members of the Swedish Parasport Federation and Gävleborgs Equestrian Federation. External trainers are also given the opportunity to rent our excellent facility for training sessions.
Our current operations manager will be moving on to new challenges but will be available for handover. The board has extensive expertise in the industry and is available to support any questions that may arise along the way.
In your role as operations manager, you will be responsible for driving and developing the operations together with the board towards set goals. You will lead an engaged team consisting of stable and riding school staff as well as the facility manager. You are responsible for a safe and secure working environment and a well-maintained facility, guided by our core values: In our association, we respect each other and create joy and community. With horsemanship, we treat the horse with humility and respect.
Reporting to the board, you will have overall responsibility for the facility, staff, horses, finances, and operational development. A major focus of the role is to be a good leader and provide our staff with the best conditions, as well as to be a skilled operations manager who can act both proactively and reactively to the challenges we face as an association. It is important that you feel a sense of ownership in organizing, planning, and following up on operations and the facility.
