Do you want to help develop the schools of the future in Uppsala? Do you have experience with data management and analysis work, an eye for structure, and a passion for development? Are you also skilled in programming and ready for new challenges? Then this might be the position for you! We are looking for someone who is both creative and pedagogical, with the ability to transform numbers into insights – and insights into action.
The Quality and Follow-up Unit is part of the Development and Quality Division within Uppsala Municipality's central Education Administration. Here, we work on monitoring and analyzing school activities in the municipality, coordinating state grant applications to the Swedish National Agency for Education, and managing teacher students' work-based training at schools.
We work in a collaborative environment with an activity-based approach, where different departments share workspaces depending on tasks and needs. Our modern facilities in the City Hall are located in the city center – perfectly situated next to Uppsala Central Station. You also have the opportunity to work partially remotely.
Your Assignment
As a Business Analyst, you will collect, process, and analyze data about educational activities for children and students aged 0-20. You will prepare documentation for the Education Committee and produce reports and analyses for individual or groups of schools and preschools. An important part of the assignment is creating clear and pedagogical visualizations of results and statistics.
The work also involves working with the municipality's databases and systems, participating in their development, and ensuring data management quality. You will work with information about grades, absence, survey results, school choice, and placements.
You will work both independently and in collaboration with other business analysts. The role involves a significant amount of practical work in Excel and programming in R and Python, which are natural tools in daily work. To succeed in the assignment, it is important that you enjoy collaborating, sharing knowledge, and finding solutions together with others.
Your Background
We are seeking someone with an academic education including statistics and experience in data management and analysis work. Experience with BI platforms or data visualization is an advantage.
You need to have excellent skills in Excel and programming (preferably R and Python). Experience in the education sector is meritorious.
You are an analytical person who quickly sees patterns and connections and who enjoys solving complex problems. You easily understand needs and wishes – even when requests are not always completely clear – and you take responsibility for delivering solutions that make a difference.
You are creative, enjoy proposing ideas and new perspectives, and have the ability to drive your assignments forward with both structure and commitment. Additionally, you plan and prioritize your work in a way that ensures deliveries are made according to schedule.
With us, you will work on meaningful issues that contribute to strengthening the quality of Uppsala's schools – and ultimately, children and young people's future. Welcome with your application!
