About this role
Hospitals in the West is an administration within the Västra Götaland Region and consists of four hospitals – Alingsås Hospital, Angered Local Hospital, Högsbo Local Hospital, and Kungälv Hospital. Approximately 3,000 employees work with us every day to provide good and safe specialist healthcare of the highest quality.
**Description**
In the Surgical and Orthopedic Departments, we work with both acute and elective care.
In the Orthopedic Department, we care for patients with fractures, back pain, or those who have undergone amputation.
In the Surgical Department, we care for patients with abdominal pain, malignancies, or urological issues. The Surgical Department also has five palliative care beds.
In the departments, nurses and nursing assistants work together in a wonderful and cohesive team. We also have close collaboration with other professionals and units within the hospital to create the best possible care for our patients.
As a nursing assistant in the Surgical and Orthopedic area, you have the opportunity to make an impact and make a difference for patients in your daily work.
**Qualifications**
You are a trained nursing assistant with previous healthcare experience. Experience working on a care ward is an advantage. We expect you to have a good ability to plan and coordinate your work. Your work style is characterized by being proactive, independent, and flexible. Additionally, you prefer to work in a team and therefore have good collaboration skills.
If you are a student in the nursing program, you need to have completed semester 3 or semester 4, depending on your program.
If you are a student in the medical program, you need to have completed semester 5 or semester 6, depending on your program.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
**Working Hours**
The position is full-time and covers all hours of the day during the period 260601 - 260831.

**Protected Professional Title for Nursing Assistants:**
As of July 1, 2023, the title of nursing assistant is a protected professional title. This means you will need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title of nursing assistant in healthcare and social services.
