About the Role and Your Responsibilities
The Segeå Project is a collaborative project between Burlöv, Lund, Malmö, Staffanstorp, Svedala, Trelleborg, and Vellinge municipalities, driven by the Segeå Water Council.
The project started in 2000 and works to protect and improve the quality of water environments, create a holistic perspective on water resources in the Segeå watershed, and serve as a collaborative forum for water-related issues. Please read more about us at segea.se.
The water council coordinator role involves independently or in collaboration with colleagues implementing various types of projects with diverse focuses, including dams and wetlands, biotope protection measures, overflow reservoirs, reduction fishing, biodiversity, ecosystem services, recreation, and dialogue meetings. One of our coordinators will be on part-time leave, so we are now seeking a 60% substitute.

- Seeking external funding for new projects, preparing reports, and finalizing project documentation
- Initiating and maintaining contact with landowners
- Procuring consultants and contractors in collaboration with hired consultants
- Ensuring nature and water conservation measures are implemented with interested landowners
- Seeking permissions and maintaining dialogue with authorities (potentially ensuring consultants do this)
- Writing statements on water issues, including detailed plans within the watershed
- Participating in various groups and forums in member municipalities
- Information initiatives
- Administrative tasks distributed within the team
- Participating and presenting at board meetings, annual meetings, etc.
- Pedagogical activities
We Are Seeking You
We are looking for someone with a natural science university degree specializing in limnology, hydrology, biology, or an equivalently assessed education.
Preferably, you have experience in wetland and water conservation work and project management. Experience collaborating with landowners/farmers and applying for external project financing is meritorious. Work experience deemed relevant is advantageous, but we also welcome applications from recent graduates.
To succeed in this role, you should have excellent organizational skills and good computer proficiency. It is necessary to independently drive projects systematically and work with parallel tasks.
To thrive with us, you should be collaborative, approach new challenges positively, and be open and outgoing. You easily build new relationships and are unpretentious. The assignment requires good communication skills, and you should be articulate in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. A B driver's license is required for the position.
Selection and interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis.
