**Job Responsibilities**
The County Administrative Board provides support to the regional Water Authority, which decides on environmental quality standards and action programs. You will primarily work with physical impacts and eutrophication in lakes and waterways. Within water management, we develop documentation and make assessments in various components of water management, such as impact analysis, status classification, action proposals, and environmental quality requirements. You will collaborate closely with colleagues at the workplace and be part of national networks with colleagues across the country. Depending on your skills and experience, your responsibilities will include:
- Developing proposals for actions in our waters
- Participating in the work with grants for water actions (LOVA)
- Engaging in consultations regarding the Water Authority's action programs
- Conducting GIS analyses and creating maps
- Contributing to the review of hydropower (NAP)
- Participating in development projects on environmental quality standards in agriculture-affected waters
- Assisting in assessing compliance with environmental quality standards during permit evaluations
- Performing other relevant tasks as needed, such as water sampling in the field
**About the Workplace**
As a water manager, you will be one of twelve others in the unit for water conservation and fishing. We work towards a better water environment, addressing everything from invasive alien species, the national testing plan for hydropower, and liming to protected species, restoration, and fishing issues. Our unit is part of the department that also works with environmental protection and nature reserves. The County Administrative Board's offices are centrally located, close to the train station, in Västerås.

**Qualifications**
- A minimum of a three-year university or college degree with an environmental or natural science focus. Your education should include hydrology, limnology, and/or water conservation or another relevant specialization.
- A valid driver's license (B).
It is advantageous if you have:
- Experience working with water management according to the EU Water Framework Directive and experience with issues related to hydromorphology and eutrophication.
- The ability to handle large datasets in Excel and knowledge of GIS.
