About the Department:
Vallentuna Municipality is seeking a sports facility worker who will work in the municipality's culture and leisure administration, specifically within the sports and outdoor unit. Currently, there are 12 employees in the sports and outdoor unit who work together in teams to maintain and develop the municipality's sports facilities, gymnasiums, trails, swimming areas, and running tracks.
Job Responsibilities:
As a sports facility worker, you will be responsible for machine maintenance, upkeep, and operation of the municipality's facilities. A workday may be structured differently depending on the season of the year. The majority of tasks will be performed at Vallentuna Sports Facility, where the municipality's ice rinks, football fields, and running tracks are located. During the summer season, some tasks will be carried out at the municipality's swimming facility, Kvarnbadet. The municipality also has sports facilities and amenities spread throughout the area that require maintenance and operation. Tasks you will perform include; mowing, facility operations, ice maintenance with an ice machine, upkeep of running tracks, tracking of ski trails, and plowing of lake ice in winter, as well as machine maintenance of the equipment belonging to the leisure administration's fleet. Work hours will be during the day, evenings, and weekends, with on-call duties at certain times.
Qualifications:
• You have a high school diploma or equivalent education relevant to the position.
• You are practical and know how to handle tools, machines, and vehicles associated with a sports facility.
• A valid B driver's license is required.
• Experience in similar tasks is advantageous, as well as familiarity with activities typically found at a sports facility.
• A driver's license for other vehicles such as tractors or similar is a plus.
• Being a trained mechanic is advantageous as this skill can be utilized during workdays.
