Bergshamraskolan is a pleasant and growing preschool to 7th-grade school, expanding with one grade level at a time.
Currently, we have approximately 360 students, with a full capacity of around 500 students. The school is located close to Bergshamra IP and Svedenbadet, with nature right at our doorstep including Edsviken and Ulriksdal Palace Park, while being just 12 minutes by metro from central Stockholm. What Does the Job Involve?
You will be a key person in the school's daily operations. Here, you'll have the opportunity to truly make a difference and contribute to an inspiring and welcoming school environment!
As a caretaker at the schools, you will primarily:
- Manage, repair, and maintain various operational areas
- Assist with technical issues related to conference equipment and computers
- Manage the schools' lock and alarm systems
- Place orders
- Handle goods reception and product transportation
- Manage contact with suppliers and the city's property maintenance staff
- Serve as a contact person for the cleaning company
- Conduct internal rounds of school facilities
- Assist with safety inspections
- Be responsible for fire safety checks
In addition, other caretaker duties will be assigned. For example, you will set up and prepare school facilities, including opening and closing spaces, rearranging furniture, and relocating items. It's a varied, service-oriented job with diverse tasks!
Who Are We Looking For?
Are you handy, service-minded, and enjoy working in a school environment? Then you're the one we're seeking!
We are looking for someone who has:
- Relevant education for the position, such as a vocational-technical high school diploma
- B driver's license and good driving experience
- Good Swedish and English skills, both verbal and written
- Good knowledge of property-related issues
- Good understanding of fire safety work
- Strong technical and IT skills
- Knowledge of lock and security systems
It is advantageous if you have:
- Education in operations and property technology
- Previous experience as a caretaker in a school
- Experience working closely with students
The job involves great variation. It requires you to be flexible, adaptable to changing circumstances, and able to prioritize various tasks. As a caretaker, you need to work systematically and plan and organize your different responsibilities. You enjoy order and structure. The job involves moving furniture, so you must be able to handle heavier lifting and physically demanding work.
Working in a school also means being a good role model for our students. You will maintain a professional approach with students, guardians, school staff, and external partners. You should be service-oriented with an interest and willingness to help others and deliver solutions.
