Caretaker/Maintenance Worker We are now seeking a caretaker for Internationella Engelska Skolan Östersund At our school, the focus is on learning and maintaining a calm environment where school routines and rules are followed by both students and staff. You must have the right to work in Sweden, be available quite soon, and have a valid criminal record extract for school work. Working with us involves various tasks, with this position primarily focused on maintenance, but you should be prepared to help where needed. We are a bilingual school, so very good knowledge of Swedish and English is fundamental. As a caretaker, you will support operations by repairing inventory, facilities, and equipment. Caretakers work with service, maintenance, and repairs of school premises and schoolyard. The work is service-oriented with technical and practical challenges. The caretaker needs the ability to take initiative, be a problem solver, and create good relationships with teachers and students, contributing to safety and well-being at the school. Your Profile: We are seeking someone with high school education with a practical orientation or relevant professional experience. Professional experience in construction, property, or industrial sectors is meritorious. We prefer candidates with good computer skills. You are a multi-tasker with experience in similar work, precise, stress-resistant, self-driven, and proactive. You should be structured, systematic, and organized with a good ability to prioritize all work tasks and make decisions. It is important to have an eye for what needs to be done within the organization. The work is often independent, and the caretaker must be able to take own initiative. Some IT skills are required as the job includes various checks, checklists, fire protection work, communication, and error reporting. The work requires good physical condition, such as lifting, working on ladders or in confined spaces if required for inspection or other purposes. An advantage would be training in work safety, ergonomics, work environment, and carpentry/construction. We seek candidates with good Swedish and English skills, both spoken and written. Great importance will be placed on professional experience, personal qualities, and ability to collaborate with others.
