Building and maintaining roads and infrastructure is significant. Contributing to community development is even more important. Here, you get to do both. We are currently seeking a construction worker for our infrastructure department in Kalmar. At Svevia, we blend the close-knit community and team spirit of a small business with the stability of a large corporation. You will have the opportunity to develop as a specialist in roadwork, with a focus on engagement, collaboration, and responsibility.
Your assignment as a roadworker
We are now looking for a roadworker focused on traffic control devices to work in the operations and traffic management business in Kalmar. We primarily conduct projects in Kalmar County, with some flexibility. The size and type of projects vary, providing you with significant opportunities to be creative in your role and work solution-focused to achieve the final goal.
You will primarily work with traffic control devices and TMA driving. Occasionally, time permitting, you may also assist in other areas, such as guardrail work and bridge maintenance. We operate both for external clients, such as municipalities and road associations, as well as in internal projects and operational areas. Furthermore, you will be a key person in our daily production alongside your colleagues.
The position is full-time and based in Kalmar, with potential for work during inconvenient hours. At Svevia, we apply individual salary setting. Start date to be agreed upon.
Who are you?
To succeed in this role, we consider it a requirement that you have:
• A C driving license
• Good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written
It is also advantageous if you have:
• A CE driving license
• Valid YKB (Professional Driver Certificate)
• APV (Safety Certificate for Road Works)
• Previous experience working in road construction
Your personality is important to us!
As a person, you are hands-on and enjoy physical work. You are independent and take the initiative to provide the customer with excellent results based on their requirements. Additionally, you are confident and appreciate varied work where you can prioritize tasks yourself. The foundation for success in this position is that, besides your expertise in roadwork, you have a service-oriented profile and want to have fun at work.
A part of something bigger
Svevia is today Sweden's largest operational contractor. In operations and maintenance, we manage, among other things, summer and winter road maintenance for half of the state's road network. Many municipalities, private companies, and road associations hire us to take care of their roads and outdoor environments.
With us, you contribute to a larger whole. We clear the roads for families heading to the mountains. We ensure that business goods reach their destination and keep streets, squares, and parks clean and tidy. Moreover, we protect lives on the road through our traffic control devices offerings.
Why Svevia?
With us, you quickly become part of the team, and we strive to be a workplace for everyone. Decision-making paths are short, and it's easy to make your voice heard. At the same time, you become part of a practical reality and a company where concrete results are achieved with steaming asphalt machines, large snowplows, and tons of rebar and concrete. With your professional skills, you can make a difference on the road. And we always put safety first—both with care for your own work environment and the safety of others.
For those looking to take the next step in their development, there are many opportunities available, whether you want to deepen your expertise in a specific area or progress to a leadership position. Together, we ensure that cities and countryside function properly. Do you want to share the road with us?
