As a Road Designer at SYSTRA, you will develop sustainable and innovative solutions in both large and small infrastructure projects. You will work throughout the entire project chain—from early stages to final design—making an impact from concept to reality. You will collaborate in interdisciplinary teams at a national level, with opportunities to grow, influence, and contribute to the development of both society and yourself.
Your main responsibilities will include:
• Developing technical solutions and conducting design for roads, streets, and land.
• Leading and participating in the entire project process, from pre-study and investigations to detailed design and quality assurance of deliveries.
• Collaborating interdisciplinarily both internally and with clients, authorities, and other external stakeholders.
• Preparing, reviewing, and documenting drawings, models, and technical descriptions according to applicable regulations and standards.
• Contributing to projects with cost estimates, planning, and risk analysis.
• Supporting and mentoring junior colleagues and contributing to knowledge sharing within the team.
• Working with digital tools and software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or vocational education in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 4 years of experience in designing roads, streets, and land.
• Experience working with public sector clients.
• Experience in preparing technical descriptions according to AMA Anläggning.
• Good knowledge of digital tools for design and document management and other relevant IT systems.
• Experience in developing tender documents and construction drawings.
• Proficient in both Swedish and English, in speech and writing.
• Familiarity with relevant IT systems and design tools.
• Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations for road and civil engineering design.
Preferred qualifications
• Education or courses in AMA Anläggning, AutoCAD Civil 3D, project management, or construction law.
• Good knowledge of MER and RA.

Location and other information
This position is a permanent employment contract based at our office in Karlstad. Of course, we offer flexibility and the opportunity to work from home a few days a week. Travel may occur a few times a year in connection with field visits and technical network meetings.
