JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Water and Wastewater Technician with us, you will work with operation, service, and development of the municipality's water and wastewater facilities. The work is varied and includes practical, theoretical, and technical elements.
Examples of job duties:
• Responsible for daily operations of water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, and pump stations.
• Perform service, supervision, and maintenance of process equipment, pumps, valves, and control systems.
• Work with sampling and instrumentation, including calibration, measurement, and documentation of water quality and process parameters.
• Participate in development, improvements, and renovations of water and wastewater facilities to enhance operational reliability and efficiency.
• Assist with leak detection and follow-up of pipeline networks in collaboration with colleagues and contractors.
• Reading, servicing, and replacement of water meters, and registration of measurement data.
• Monitoring and control via operational and monitoring systems (SCADA), and assessment of processes and facility conditions.
• Documentation and reporting according to current routines, including operational journals, logs, and maintenance plans.
• Participate in on-call duty according to schedule to handle acute operational disruptions during evenings and weekends.
• Perform troubleshooting for operational disruptions, such as abnormal pressure, flows, or limit values.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in technology, environment, and social utility. You thrive in a role that combines practical work with responsibility for operation and development of important community functions.
We prefer candidates who have:
• Vocational college education as Water & Environmental Technician or equivalent education in the water and wastewater area.
• Experience with operation, maintenance, or process work at water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, or pump stations.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, control, and regulation technology and understanding of process and flow-related connections.
• Familiarity with computers and operational monitoring systems (e.g., SCADA).
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and instructions.
• Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish.
• Residence near Askersund, as on-call duty is included.
Driving license B is a requirement.
Meriting factors include:
• Experience from municipal water and wastewater operations or similar technical activities.
• Knowledge of water chemistry, sampling, or instrumentation.
• Experience with mechanical work, stainless steel welding, pipe installation, and assembly.
• Required training, Hot Work Permits, APV
• Driving licenses BE, C. Forklift certification
