The VA/Gata unit in Bollebygd is part of the Technical and Service Administration. This unit also includes parks, waste management, property management, meals, and cleaning services. Together, we provide essential community services to Bollebygd Municipality, both internally and externally.
The VA unit manages the municipality's water and sewage facilities, wastewater treatment plants, as well as the entire municipal water pipeline network and the municipality's roads. Currently, around ten people work in this unit.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As the unit manager for VA/Gata, you will be responsible for employees, work environment, and finances within your unit. You will play a key role in the development of Bollebygd Municipality's water operations and collaborate closely with other administrations to advance Bollebygd's community development processes.
You will lead all aspects of the VA/Gata operations, which includes long-term planning in collaboration with, for example, the administration's staff and finance unit, as well as crisis preparedness, daily operations, and maintenance of processes and facilities. The role involves extensive contacts, both internally and externally. You will ensure high quality in the services for which the unit is responsible while combining this with clear leadership and sound financial management. You are passionate about developing strong teams and promoting positive group dynamics, both within the unit and in the administration.
You will actively monitor the external environment, develop, and follow up on the unit's quality and efficiency. You will be responsible for maintaining high functionality in the water and sewage treatment plants and the pipeline network and roads, both in terms of preventing acute problems and enabling upcoming strategic renewal planning. The work includes dialogue with authorities and politicians, working with governing documents, contractual issues, and fees.
The position is directly under the head of administration, and you will be part of the management team of the Technical and Service Administration alongside four other unit manager colleagues, development leaders, an economist, and a committee secretary.
QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements
• Degree from a relevant academic engineering program in the field of at least 180 credits, or equivalent experience as assessed by the employer
• Experience working as a manager
• B driver's license
• Good knowledge in VA/Gata

• Work experience within a politically governed organization with an understanding of decision-making processes
You have a knack for formulating clear goals, making decisions, and communicating them effectively. You are unpretentious, structured, and driven, supporting and motivating your employees to achieve the goals of the organization. You enjoy working both operationally and strategically.
