About this role

Heart Center in Östergötland is a regional center for specialized cardiovascular care. The center encompasses specialties in thoracic surgery and intensive care/thoracic anesthesia, cardiology/HIU, clinical physiology/nuclear medicine, and vascular surgery, where the operations form parts of a natural care chain. The Thoracic-Vascular Clinic is part of the Heart Center and operates in a highly integrated manner, with well-functioning collaboration between the various units. The different specialties of the Thoracic-Vascular Clinic include cardiac, lung, and vascular surgery. The clinic is a USV clinic. Thoracic vascular surgery is part of the Thoracic-Vascular Clinic and is a highly specialized, technology-intensive, and expansive operation at the forefront of the Heart Center at the University Hospital in Linköping. We handle patients from the Southeast healthcare region, namely Region Kalmar, Region Jönköping, and Region Östergötland. Job Description In the role of unit manager, you will lead, plan, and develop the operations in close collaboration with the rest of the clinic management. Here, you will have the opportunity to test new ideas as a natural part of learning and development. We actively work with employee engagement and participation to maintain and develop our excellent workplace. You will be one of two unit managers with budget, personnel, and work environment responsibility for 58 employees, including nurses, nursing assistants, and perfusionists. The role will involve close collaboration with your fellow unit manager in a shared leadership model. The leadership should be characterized by engagement and stimulate an engaged workforce, which is the foundation of a good work environment. We will meet the future and develop the clinic with high quality and patient safety. The role also includes a clear lateral responsibility and close collaboration with the operations manager and unit managers within the clinic. You are an important part of the clinic management and are expected to contribute with initiatives and creativity in addressing clinic-wide issues. The systems you will work with as a manager include SDWorx, Findity, and Tessa. About You We are looking for someone with a healthcare-related higher education or a relevant qualification for the role. You have prior leadership experience, and it is an advantage if you have managerial experience from healthcare operations. Furthermore, we seek someone who is passionate about work environment issues and employee engagement. You lead by creating involvement and participation through clear and present leadership. You are proactive, initiate activities, and achieve results. To succeed in this role, you need to have a holistic view, understand your role, and prioritize the best interests of the entire clinic in your actions and decisions. As a person, you are confident, have good self-awareness, and work well with others. Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities.
