The Women's Clinic at the University Hospital in Linköping, in collaboration with the Hospital in Motala, works with all branches of women's healthcare; all forms of gynecological outpatient and inpatient care with a focus on highly specialized care, cancer surgery, infertility treatments, and all types of obstetrics. Maternal care is organized within the clinic. The Women's Clinic at US, with its over 300 employees, serves patients in need of advanced women's healthcare from the entire Southeast healthcare region.
The gynecological inpatient unit is a modern facility that provides highly specialized care with national assignments, where gynecological tumor surgery constitutes the largest part of the operations. The unit also receives patients from across the country who require reconstructive surgery after childbirth injuries. The operations run 24/7, and the team consists of approximately 38 employees.
Job Description
We are looking for someone who, in collaboration with employees, medical managers, and managerial colleagues within gynecological inpatient care, wants to lead the work for high-quality and safe women's healthcare. Together, you and your managerial colleague will be responsible for operational, financial, personnel, and work environment issues. Being a unit manager with us means both operational and strategic leadership. You are expected to work closely with operations, with a strong focus on daily management and control, while also leading the unit from a holistic perspective.
Part of your mission will also involve collaborating with the Women's Clinic at Vrinnevisjukhuset (ViN) to provide the best care for women in the region, as well as cooperating with neighboring care providers at the University Hospital.
The position is a combined role where you will work 80% as a unit manager and 20% based on your primary profession. Your managerial colleague will have the same arrangement in their role.
Work Group
In the gynecological department, 19 nurses and nine nursing assistants work in teams. We also have a healthcare administrator closely linked to our operations, and we have roles within the group such as on-call nurse, surgical planner, and contact nurse.
About You
For the managerial position, it is required that you have education within the healthcare field. We consider it advantageous if you have experience in 24/7 operations, preferably in women's healthcare. Previous experience in management and leadership is also an asset.
We are looking for someone who wants to work as a leader and manager in a unit where we put the patient at the center. To thrive and fit in with us, your personal qualities are important. At our clinic, we work closely together and need good communication to successfully solve the tasks we encounter in our daily work. Therefore, the position suits you if you enjoy collaboration. You have the ability to lead and create engagement and participation within the workgroup. You possess patience, achieve results, and have a good ability to organize, structure, and strategically drive the operations in the long term.
