About this role
Make a Difference. Every Day.
Regional development work is about initiating, coordinating, and driving regional development processes in broad collaboration with the region's development actors to strengthen sustainable development throughout Skåne. Companies, organizations, municipalities, regions, universities, and government agencies are all important partners in this work. We are a politically governed organization working to implement politically set priorities.
In the Regional Development Department of the Corporate Office, we coordinate regional development issues, drive development issues that address Skåne's challenges, and work to implement our development strategy Open Skåne (RUS). Here, we are approximately 150 employees with expertise in areas such as social analysis, infrastructure, urban planning, business, skills provision, environment and circular economy, innovation and entrepreneurship, international relations, and more.
The Governance and Preparation Unit works with overall staff issues, coordinates and supports political processes, is responsible for activities such as business planning, budget planning, advocacy, and leads the work on Skåne's regional development strategy.

We are now seeking a development strategist and business developer for the Governance and Preparation Unit to work with the department's overall planning, follow-up, and budget processes. These processes are central to driving development forward in regional development work. We are looking for someone who wants to work with process management and development with a special focus on reporting, follow-up, and budgeting. You will further develop methods, processes, and routines to ensure efficient and clear working methods that facilitate operations.
Job tasks will vary according to needs but are always linked to our regional development strategy and politically set priorities.
Examples of tasks:
• Coordinate and develop internal work with planning, follow-up, and budgeting
• Coordinate and develop full-year and interim reporting work
• Participate in the committee's internal control and risk analysis
• Coordinate various internal working groups
• Identify development needs
• Anchor and lead processes
Your work will be in close collaboration with employees across the department. The work requires a balance between follow-up, analysis, and business planning with a focus on strategic processes and the ability to translate this into practical implementation, such as supporting employees and managers in the process. As the world changes, assignments may also change, and our goal is to meet the challenges we see in Skåne with initiatives that respond to these.
We offer you an exciting job with high-priority issues close to management, interesting and developing tasks, and access to a broad network. The position gives you the opportunity to take significant personal responsibility and become part of a fantastic team in a workplace with an open and inclusive culture.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are seeking someone with a university degree in an area deemed relevant to the assignment. You have experience with strategic work in planning, follow-up, and budget processes in a larger organization such as an academic institution, agency, municipality, or company, preferably in an area relevant to the position. It is meritorious if you have experience working in a politically governed organization and working closely with and on behalf of politics. Additionally, you have experience and ability to lead and develop complex processes and workshops. Knowledge of decision support systems and analysis programs, such as Stratsys, is meritorious.
Driving and working with these processes requires the ability to see and understand how the whole and parts are interconnected and how development work is advanced through dialogue and collaboration between different parts of the operations. You also have a good understanding of social contexts and the ability to inspire others to take responsibility and drive processes forward. You are comfortable working both independently and in teams and easily create trusting relationships. You listen to needs and have the ability to engage, challenge, and bring people along.
As a person, you are strategic, driven, communicative, and goal-oriented.
