Development Officer (SO) for Base Units at the Naval Warfare School

About the Department
The Base Development Department drives development projects for the base units in the Navy. The base units consist of Naval base battalions and Naval military bases, and their task is to support other naval combat units with logistics on land and at sea. The department operates under the Amphibious Combat Unit and has personnel stationed in Stockholm (Berga) and Karlskrona (Örlogshamnen).
The department collaborates with the Naval Staff, combat units, the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV), the Swedish Defence Research Agency (FOI), industry, and other branches of the armed forces. Working daily on development projects and being part of a context where ideas can extend beyond what is currently possible is very exciting.
Main Responsibilities
• Participate in development projects within the areas of material, tactics, concepts, and governing documents such as manuals and regulations.
• Practical development work related to testing and experimental activities.
• Participate in exercise activities.
Qualifications
• Completed and approved basic specialist officer training.
• Several years of service in positions related to base units or maritime logistics.
DESIRABLE
• Good knowledge of ground equipment in the Navy.
• Good knowledge of ship systems in the Navy.
• Class B driver's license.

More About the Employment
The position is a military permanent employment at 100% with a 40-hour workweek.
Work location: Karlskrona
Start date: By agreement
Salary: Individual salary setting applies.
Travel may be required in the position.
The Swedish Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those not currently employed by the authority.

Information About the Swedish Armed Forces and the Recruiting Unit:
The Naval Warfare School (SSS) trains officers, specialist officers, sailors, and soldiers at all levels. SSS also conducts studies, trials, and leadership training for ship crews, as well as tactics and technology development within the maritime domain. SSS also has responsibilities for diving and naval medicine within the Swedish Armed Forces. SSS is primarily based in Karlskrona in Blekinge but also has a unit in Berga outside Stockholm that specializes in amphibious warfare.
