About this role

Job Responsibilities Do you want to contribute to developing knowledge-based safety promotion and crime prevention work? We are now seeking a Development Leader focused on knowledge-based safety and crime prevention work, as well as situational analysis for the Community Development Unit. We are looking for a Development Leader who wants to work with analysis, documentation, and knowledge-based situational work at the community level. You will be part of a team working with issues such as public health, domestic violence, urban development, international affairs, and EU matters. You will play a central role in strengthening the city's ability to work in a knowledge-based, systematic, and long-term manner. You will be responsible for developing and applying methods for knowledge-based situational analysis that provide decision-makers and operations with a shared and current understanding of the safety and crime situation in the Centrum urban area. Your mission involves creating documentation based on facts, research, and proven experience, and translating knowledge into strategic and practical actions. The role has a clear focus on analysis and investigation, and the work will be conducted in close collaboration with colleagues, other departments and companies within the City of Gothenburg, as well as external actors. Job tasks include: - Developing and leading knowledge-based situational assessments as a basis for safety and crime prevention interventions. - Collecting, analyzing, and processing quantitative and qualitative information – from statistics, research, evaluations, and citizen dialogues. - Developing short and long-term situational analyses. - Using and further developing analytical methods and tools to identify patterns, trends, and causes of insecurity and crime. - Producing knowledge bases, reports, development plans, and strategic analyses that strengthen decision-making and prioritization at both local and societal levels. - Writing service statements, consultation responses, and reports for political committees and management groups. - Concretizing legislation, national strategies, and local goals into practically implementable approaches. - Monitoring the safety and crime prevention field, following research and method development to ensure the City of Gothenburg remains at the forefront. Qualifications We are seeking candidates with a university degree in criminology that provides knowledge of knowledge-based approaches in safety and crime prevention work. With the law on municipalities' responsibility for crime prevention work, we are in a development process for the department's knowledge-based situational analysis and are looking for someone with documented experience in working with and developing processes and annual cycles for knowledge-based situational work. We are seeking someone with experience working on safety and crime prevention issues at a strategic level. You have at least one year of experience as a Development Leader focused on knowledge-based situational work – from creating situational analyses to cause analyses, action plans, and follow-up. You have a good understanding of evidence-based and research-anchored methods in safety and crime prevention work, and experience with IT tools for collection and analysis, such as Embrace. You have at least one year of experience conducting analyses, mapping, and writing consultations, decision bases, reports, and action plans in safety and crime prevention issues. You express yourself very well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing, and have a strong ability to communicate analysis and conclusions clearly, structured, and pedagogically. You also have experience leading assignments and projects and collaborating with others on safety and crime prevention issues. It is meritorious if you have worked in a politically governed organization, with cross-sectoral issues, and have experience with evaluation and follow-up work at organizational and societal levels. You can effectively identify and analyze the core of a problem and suggest possible solutions. You have the ability to see connections and draw logical conclusions from limited and/or complex information. You enjoy working at the intersection of research, analysis, and practice and can see both details and the big picture. You are driven by creating societal value through knowledge and long-term development. You establish clear goals and plan activities and projects well in advance. You use time effectively and work systematically, organized, and methodically. You ensure work is completed and follow up on results. You are quick, productive, and motivated, with strong commitment and enthusiasm for your work. You take initiative and responsibility to move work forward, whether working alone or with others.
