About this role

**Job Description** **Responsibilities** Our Environmental Development Leader will be on parental leave for just over a year. Therefore, we are looking for you! As the Environmental Development Leader in the Social Administration Center, you will coordinate the overall environmental work for the entire administration. You will play a crucial role in aligning the city’s ambitious climate goals with the Social Administration Center and maintaining the administration’s management system in the environmental area. You will work with goals and activities, processes, investigations, and also training within the environmental field. There are established routines, governing documents, and an environmental management system in place, but you will need to maintain quality and improve processes as necessary. The management of the administration decides each year on a number of environmental activities to be implemented, which are followed up in annual reports and oral presentations. You will belong to the Department of Staff and Communication and report to the department head. The department consists of 22 employees who are specialists in their fields, such as communication, IT, security, and committee administration. Within the administration, you will also collaborate closely with functions such as procurement coordinators, facility managers, and property development leaders. You will work with development leaders primarily in other social administrations but will also be part of city-wide networks. **Qualifications** We are looking for someone with a relevant higher education and experience working with environmental and climate issues. Ideally, you have previous experience working in a politically governed organization. As a development leader, you take responsibility for your assignments and drive the work forward to achieve good results together with others. You have a responsive approach to collaboration, strong social skills, and are ambitious in advancing environmental issues. Furthermore, it is important that you have the ability to analyze, see connections, and propose solutions to complex questions and problems. You should be able to write well, both reports and follow-ups, and also have experience in training others. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. The position is a temporary contract from March 1, 2026, to the end of August 2027. We warmly welcome your application! **Other** The City of Gothenburg is one of Sweden's largest employers.
