About the Assignment
As part of the school office's pedagogical development group, you will work to support schools in developing instruction and improving the quality of student learning. The group works closely with principals and educators to translate research and proven experience into practical instructional development. The focus is on strengthening schools' ability to analyze, follow up, and improve instruction – especially in mathematics and mathematical thinking, which are crucial for students' continued learning. Through mentoring, analysis, and collegial learning, you will contribute to creating increased equity, improved results, and instruction that gives all students the opportunity to progress as far as possible – from the earliest school years.
Primary Work Tasks
You will:
· Be part of the School Office's pedagogical development group and support schools in their instructional development and early mathematics interventions.
· Mentor and collaborate with teachers and school leaders at school and group levels.
· Contribute to the development of mathematics and mathematical thinking instruction based on research and proven experience.
· Develop and spread structures and methods for early detection and support for students who need stimulation or additional support in mathematics.
· Work based on national goals and governing documents, specifically:
o Preschool class: Sub-goal 5 – Every student receives a good foundation for developing mathematical thinking.
o Primary school: Sub-goal 6 – Every student can use mathematical thinking for further studies and in everyday life.
o Adapted primary school: Sub-goal 6 – Every student can use mathematical thinking for further studies and in everyday life.
Qualifications
We are seeking someone who:
· Is a licensed teacher with qualification in mathematics.
· Has documented experience in instructional and development work in mathematics.
· Preferably has experience with lead teacher assignments or equivalent development responsibility.
· Has a special interest in early and preventive interventions and mathematics didactics.
Personal Qualities
You have a natural ability to inspire and engage others. You are relationship-building, attentive, and unpretentious – while being brave and professional in development work. You also have an analytical approach, see the big picture, and can translate goals and strategies into concrete practice – especially in mathematics instruction. Great importance is placed on personal suitability.
