The School and Leisure Administration is responsible for preschool, primary school, high school, and leisure activities. There are many different work areas that are important to Helsingborg residents. In total, we have around 4,000 employees and 160 managers. The administration office provides management and support for the School and Leisure Administration's activities. The administration office's finance department currently has 13 employees working on budgeting, resource allocation, follow-up, accounting, GDPR issues, and IT system matters. We are now seeking a new economist for our team.
Job Responsibilities
You have a great opportunity to influence both the layout of your work and your tasks. This way, we believe you can use and develop your skills in the best possible way. As an economist with us, you will work in support of principals in preschool and school, as well as other managers within the administration. You are an important part of our collective work to maintain a balanced budget. You will work closely with your colleagues in the finance department and be part of our joint efforts regarding the administration's finances.
In your role as an economist, you will work with budgets, forecasts, follow-ups, and financial statements. Supporting managers also includes ongoing analysis work to help them plan their activities in the best way possible. Depending on your competence and interests, you may also work on specific overarching issues or projects in the financial area. Since the finance department is part of the School and Leisure Administration, you will have a close connection to the operations and an opportunity to learn a lot about all our preschools, schools, and leisure activities.

Qualifications
We are seeking someone with a higher education degree in economics/a master's degree in business administration. Experience with public sector work and experience in budgeting, accounting, analysis, and follow-up is meritorious.
You are knowledgeable in finance and have a good understanding of financial reporting while also understanding the operational needs. A good pedagogical ability to explain economics in a simple way is an important characteristic. You are development-oriented, enjoy finding new solutions, and have good digital competence. As a person, you are positive and independent. You are flexible and not afraid to jump in where needed. You easily collaborate with others, enjoy learning new things, and apply them in your work. You strive for the development of routines and working methods and high quality in what you are responsible for. You like sharing what you have learned. Good Excel skills are also required. Experience with various financial systems, especially Unit 4, is meritorious. Likewise, experience with analysis tools such as Qlik Sense is meritorious. You are good at expressing yourself both verbally and in writing.
