Ward 61 provides you with excellent skills in theoretical and practical nursing care for surgically urgent and elective gastrointestinal diseases.
With us, you don’t have to be the best at everything, as we all have different strengths that complement each other. You will be responsible for six patients, and you will have the support of highly experienced colleagues. During the day, evening, and weekend, there are four teams, and you will work in a team alongside a nursing assistant. Ward 61 is also a world leader in working according to the ERAS Care Program, which is a standardized approach with short hospital stays.

Job Description
In your role as a nurse on Ward 61, you will plan, lead, and perform specific surgical nursing tasks. You will continuously work with observations, be responsible for pre- and post-operative care, pain management, palliative care, and ensure that the patient is optimized before surgery. Your tasks will also include making independent assessments and leading the nursing team. During the day, there are support functions such as care coordinators, clinical nursing leaders, pharmacists, and quality, education, and patient safety officers.

Qualifications
Recent graduate or experienced licensed nurse. Previous experience in surgical care is an advantage. Part-time employment with start date according to agreement.

About the Department
The Surgery and Urology department conducts both urgent and elective surgery and urology, as well as operating activities in outpatient and inpatient care around the clock. We treat and care for patients primarily from Stockholm County, but also from other regions and international patients with surgical or urological diseases. Patients are taken care of in several different specialist clinics, two operating rooms, and four wards with different specialty areas: colorectal surgery, upper gastrointestinal surgery, bariatric surgery, and liver tumors, as well as urology. Approximately 460 staff members work here.
