About this role
We are seeking a temporary Exhibition Producer with Program Responsibility for Helsingborg Museum. Would you like to be part of the journey to establish the museum in Dunkers Cultural Center? Then you might be the one we're looking for.
About the Workplace
Culture is a key driver in making Helsingborg the most attractive city. We pursue an active and visible cultural policy based on cultural institutions, independent cultural practitioners, and civil society engagement. The public operations include Helsingborg Library, Helsingborg Museum, Helsingborg Cultural School, Helsingborg Art Gallery, and Dunkers Stages. These are supported by shared staff functions for communication, administration, finance, and HR.
Helsingborg Museum is contemporary, current, and relevant. We work with questions about cultural heritage's role in long-term societal development and its significance for social and environmental sustainability. The museum encompasses destinations such as Fredriksdal Museums and Gardens, Kärnan, Cultural Magazine, Pålsjö Mill, and Möllebacken. From January 1, 2025, the operation will also have a clear home at Dunkers Cultural Center, which will become Helsingborg Museum's largest exhibition arena.
We are now seeking a temporary producer for a parental leave of just over 9 months. You will work on project managing and producing exhibitions with associated programs and events across Helsingborg Museum.
Job Responsibilities
You will be responsible for producing art and cultural history exhibitions, from concept to final exhibition, in close dialogue with a project group. You will ensure that the exhibition's content and design align with the overall concept, purpose, goals, and target audience. You will also function as a project manager with extended responsibility for the entire process from startup to conclusion.
You will plan, coordinate, and implement events in close collaboration with the program manager. The position will involve numerous internal and external contact points. You will collaborate with cultural practitioners, associations, companies, and volunteer forces to ensure each event's success. Your ability to establish and maintain relationships will be crucial.
Your position will be divided between the "Collect and Preserve" and "Experience and Learn" departments, with a special focus on Dunkers Cultural Center, but also working with Fredriksdal. Event programs and content should create interest for new target groups as well as seasoned museum visitors, fitting into the museum's overall program activities and brand.
You will be responsible for purchasing and procurement, maintaining budget and deadlines, and ensuring communication with project stakeholders. You will also be responsible for providing information and materials to the communication department and ticket administration.
Weekend and evening work will occur.
