We are responsible for the management, follow-up, and development of the city's operations based on the vision and budget decided by the City Council. We are approximately 350 employees primarily working on strategic issues of significant importance for the city's operations. Welcome to Us The Security Department within the City Executive Office is responsible for central management, coordination, and development of the city's comprehensive security work. The department is led by a Security Director and currently consists of 20 employees distributed across three units: Emergency Preparedness Unit, Security Protection and Information Security Unit, and Operational Protection Unit. We are now seeking an investigator who wants to help develop work preventing and countering irregularities and incorrect payments within the City's operations. The position is within the Operational Protection Unit, which handles the city's responsibility for mobile security guards, personal security, City Hall security, camera surveillance, and welfare crime investigations. The operation is in an intense development phase related to the current global situation, crime development, and upcoming election year. Your Role As an investigator, you'll work within the welfare crime domain, closely collaborating with others to detect, analyze, and investigate suspected irregularities in the city's operations. You'll collect and review information from multiple sources, make assessments, analyze, and compile investigations forming the basis for decisions and potential legal actions. Key Responsibilities: - Gather, review, and verify information from multiple sources - Conduct investigations related to suspected irregularities and deviations - Perform legal investigations supporting decision-making - Compile complex information into clear, legally sound reports - Present conclusions and recommendations to management - Methodically evaluate evidence and apply source criticism The role involves collaboration with city departments and external agencies like Social Insurance Agency, Tax Agency, Police Authority, and Economic Crime Authority. You'll contribute to strengthening trust in city operations and ensuring welfare resources are used appropriately. The position may also include emergency service duty (approximately six-seven weeks per year). Your Competence and Experience We Seek Candidates With: - Academic degree in economics, law, or relevant education - Minimum three years of experience investigating economic crime or irregularities - Work experience in municipal, regional, or public administration - Strong knowledge of relevant legislation - Basic information security and data protection knowledge - Excellent Swedish and good English communication skills Beneficial Additional Qualifications: - Experience in internal control, internal auditing, or crime prevention - Additional language skills Ideal Candidate Profile: - Analytical with strong information assessment skills - Structured and methodical work approach - Collaborative yet independent - High integrity and social responsibility - Stress-resistant Additional Requirements: - Swedish citizenship - Approved security clearance We are conducting a competence-based recruitment process focusing on skills and experiences.
