About this role

State Institutions Board (SiS) is a government agency responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for youth with complex psychosocial problems and adults with substance abuse. SiS also executes closed youth care services. We do this at youth facilities and treatment homes for adults with substance abuse across the country. At SiS, your work life will be an exciting challenge. Regardless of where you work in our organization or what role you have, you help create vital change. At the head office in Solna Business Park, we have approximately 350 employees, and together we work to support and develop the agency with around 4,000 employees. Job Description The Research and Evaluation Section (FoU) is seeking investigators specializing in data management and microdata. Here, you will work at the intersection of research, analysis, and organizational development. As an investigator, you will work closely with researchers, analysts, and other investigators on the agency's microdata – data that forms the basis for research, follow-up, and development of SiS activities. Your work includes managing, processing, and analyzing microdata, as well as providing methodological support to researchers and colleagues on quantitative methods, analysis plans, and result interpretation. Your tasks include data extraction for researchers, conducting confidentiality assessments for data release, performing statistical analyses, and creating foundations for research, follow-up, and organizational development. You will also contribute to developing SiS's data infrastructure and internal analysis capacity, focusing on quality, legal certainty, and transparency. This includes developing and documenting routines for quality assurance, metadata, and data processing. The work occurs in a technically protected environment where secure data management according to GDPR and confidentiality legislation is central. Therefore, you need to be meticulous, security-conscious, structured, and understand how to transform data into meaningful knowledge within a government-managed framework. You also need strong collaborative skills as the work requires close cooperation within the section and with other agency functions. Qualifications • University degree in statistics, systems science, epidemiology, psychology, sociology, mathematics, data analysis, or another relevant field that SiS deems appropriate for the work. • Several years of experience in data management using SQL or another database environment. • Good understanding of quantitative methods and register-based analysis. • Knowledge of data protection legislation (GDPR, public access, and confidentiality). Merits • Experience with statistical analysis in R, Stata, SPSS, or equivalent. • Experience working with microdata, register data, or administrative data in research or public sector. • Knowledge of relational databases, ETL flows, and metadata management. • Experience with R or Python in secured IT environments. • Experience collaborating in interdisciplinary or inter-agency projects. • Experience working in government agencies or other public sector organizations. At SiS, we value good employee engagement. This means you take responsibility for your work, contribute to development, and promote good collaboration. Read more about our employee engagement. Employment This is a full-time, permanent position with an initial six-month probationary period. Start date by agreement.
