About this role

Do you want to work in an interesting and dynamic workplace that is at the heart of societal debate? We offer a socially important and engaging role that provides an opportunity to contribute to the development of the welfare sector. Right now, we are on a journey of development, and you will join a changing organization with a solid foundation. About the position The Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare has been the sector-responsible authority for preparedness work within the health, care, and social services sector since October 1, 2022. This means that the authority has been given an expanded responsibility to strengthen coordination and drive the development of preparedness for peacetime crises, heightened readiness, and war. We are now seeking a researcher who wants to contribute to the authority's work in coordinating and developing the health, care, and social services sector. You will be placed in the Department of Crisis Preparedness and Civil Defense, Unit for Planning, Coordination, and Evaluation at the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare. The role includes planning, implementation, and follow-up of work related to the sector responsibility. It also involves producing materials to strengthen long-term capability planning in the sector, as well as analytical work related to capability assessment from a sector perspective. The role also includes representing the authority in national crisis preparedness and total defense forums alongside other national actors. About you To thrive in this role, you need to have good collaboration skills combined with the ability to work independently. The role also requires you to be structured and possess strong analytical skills. During the recruitment process, we will place significant emphasis on your personal qualities. We are looking for someone who has: • Academic education in a relevant field for the position • Experience working with preparedness issues at an authority, municipality, or region • Experience in qualified investigative work, such as planning, data collection, analysis, and compilation, as well as presentation of data, both written and orally • Good ability to express yourself in both spoken and written Swedish and English. It is advantageous if you have: • Knowledge of healthcare or social services (organization and function) • Experience in collaboration between different actors, such as authorities, regions, municipalities, and the business sector • Experience working in security-sensitive operations related to total defense issues • Experience from a sector-responsible authority or from a civil area-responsible county administrative board. Good to know The position is a two-year full-time temporary contract. You will be based at the office on Västerbroplan in Stockholm, but you have the option to work remotely up to two days a week. In spring 2027, we will move to Solna Strand. Your job title will be researcher, and your placement will be in the Department of Crisis Preparedness and Civil Defense, Unit for Planning, Coordination, and Evaluation. The position is classified in a security class, and a security clearance with a background check will be conducted before a hiring decision is made. When you apply, you will need to answer a number of selection questions related to the requirements profile in the advertisement. Your answers will be used as part of the selection process and may determine whether you proceed in the recruitment process. Therefore, it is important that you answer as thoroughly and clearly as possible. We do not use the personal letter in the selection process; therefore, please only attach your CV.
