About this role
Make a difference. Every day.
The surgical department is one of the largest operations at the Central Hospital in Kristianstad and includes outpatient services for vascular, lower and upper gastrointestinal, as well as breast/plastic patients. We also have an oncology treatment unit, Acute Surgical Department, Surgical Ward, Urology and Vascular Department, Gynecology Surgery, Ear-Nose-Throat, and Acute Orthopedics.
We are an acute surgical department where patients with trauma or acute surgical conditions are treated. Here, we have the capacity for continuous monitoring to ensure better care for our more ill patients. We provide both pre- and post-operative care. The pace is fast, with varied tasks, and no two days are alike. Our staff are knowledgeable and engaged, always focused on the patient. The team surrounding the patient includes doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, pharmacists, social workers, dietitians, medical secretaries, and service hosts. During daytime on weekdays, we have coordinators who manage all incoming calls and arrange transport upon discharges and examinations. Our service hosts are responsible for meal management, cleaning, and other ancillary tasks, which frees up more time for the patients. An SVU coordinator is available during the day to ensure safe and patient-secure discharges to the municipality. Here, we strive for a good working environment and teamwork based on the right use of skills. We have a close collaboration with other units involved based on the patient’s needs.
