Mission Leader for Security Department Staff
The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration is seeking a Mission Leader for the Security Department's staff. We are in a phase of strong growth, and the staff is being built up to enhance the department's ability to lead, coordinate, and follow up on operations at a strategic level. Your Daily Work – Strengthening Sweden's Security
The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration is in a highly expansive phase with significant investment volumes to continue developing and building properties and facilities for total defense. The Security Department currently has approximately 60 employees and is responsible for security protection. The staff coordinates the department's planning and operations follow-up, process development, training, case coordination, and signal protection function.
As a Mission Leader, you will have overall responsibility for leading, coordinating, following up, and developing the organization's incident management. You will ensure that the incident process is established, known, and applied throughout the organization. For major incidents, you will take the role of incident leader. You will analyze threats, vulnerabilities, and protected values and propose security-enhancing measures. The role also includes conducting ongoing controls and planning and coordinating special control efforts. You will also perform security protection assessments, security protection analyses, and action plans, and provide support to the organization on security protection issues. The work also involves planning and conducting training initiatives. You are expected to work independently on your own cases while maintaining close collaboration with colleagues, other departments, and defense-related authorities.
You will make assessments with various time perspectives, aggregation levels, and different recipients to provide decision-making grounds for the authority's operations. The position involves numerous contact points and collaborations by participating in networks and actively collaborating with our partners and other defense-related authorities. You are expected to spread your knowledge internally and externally by informing and educating. As a Mission Leader/Response Leader, you will also work on NATO-related assignments.
Qualifications
We are seeking someone with post-secondary education in security protection with extensive knowledge of security protection legislation and current regulations. You have good knowledge of security protection planning, security reporting, and incident management. You have experience in qualified security protection work, security-classified information, and several years of experience in security services within total defense. You have experience developing processes and routines within security protection services.
You have leadership competence that we find satisfactory and good knowledge of administrative IT support systems. You communicate and express yourself well both verbally and in writing in Swedish. A Class B driver's license is required.
It is meritorious if you have experience giving presentations and conducting training. It is also advantageous if you have planned and conducted security operations.
Your personal characteristics are very important to us. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability and your commitment. We need someone who is relationship-oriented and has experience building networks and working across organizational boundaries with different competencies and across authority boundaries. Being able to create understanding and a holistic view of security protection issues across multiple operational areas is a crucial ability to be successful in this role. You should be able to clearly and naturally convey your message at both management and operational levels.
You are structured, self-driven, and have the patience and ability to work strategically towards long-term goals. To succeed in the role, you must be persistent and committed to driving your own work forward. You have high security awareness with high integrity and good judgment, and a clear drive to help protect Sweden's security.
