Department of Psychology and Social Work operates at Campus Östersund. We conduct research and education in social work and fundamental areas of psychology.
Job Responsibilities
The university lecturer position includes teaching in Social Work, administrative tasks, and supervision of students at both basic and advanced levels.
The position involves both campus and distance learning. However, the majority of teaching occurs in the Social Work Program, which is a campus-based education. The work in education and teaching also includes responsibility for course planning, course development, examination, and administration.
Furthermore, the employee is expected to contribute to the development of the subject through their work.

Eligible for the university lecturer position in Social Work are those who have demonstrated pedagogical skills, completed a doctoral degree or have equivalent scientific competence, or possess professional expertise relevant to the position's subject content and tasks.
Qualification requires a doctoral degree in Social Work or a closely related relevant field.
Additional Requirements
Documented experience in teaching in Swedish. You must have an excellent ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish.
Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities. We are seeking a person who is attentive and has good collaborative skills. You plan and organize work independently and responsibly within set time frames.
Assessment Criteria
The assessment of a lecturer's appointment will consider the degree of skills required for eligibility. Equal care will be given to evaluating pedagogical and scientific skills.
Scientific skills will be primarily assessed through the relevance of conducted research to social work as a research and educational subject. Pedagogical skills will be assessed based on documented teaching in areas relevant to social work. Competence and documented experience in teaching in the Social Work Program is meritorious in assessing pedagogical skills.
A degree from the Social Work Program is meritorious.
Processing
Preparation for the appointment follows the forms specified in Chapter 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance and continues in accordance with https://www.miun.se/medarbetare/styrdokument/ny-styrning-planering-och-uppfoljning/Personal/Anstalla-personal/?item=311447.
Employment and Commencement
This is a 6-month temporary position at 100% full-time from 2026-01-12 or by agreement.
