About this role

The Department of Education, Didactics, and Educational Sociology (EDU) conducts research, doctoral education, undergraduate education, and commissioned training in the fields of education, didactics, and educational sociology. EDU also offers several master's programs. The department has approximately 250 employees, including around 175 teachers/researchers, 45 doctoral students, and 30 administrators. More information about the department's activities can be found at http://www.edu.uu.se. Job Responsibilities: The position primarily involves teaching, examination, administration, and supervision within the principal education and master's program in educational leadership. To a lesser extent, tasks may also occur in other programs offered by the department at both undergraduate and advanced levels. Eligibility Requirements: To be eligible for appointment as a university lecturer, candidates must demonstrate pedagogical proficiency at the university level and have obtained a doctoral degree in education or possess equivalent scientific competence relevant to the subject matter of the position and the associated responsibilities. The applicant must be able to teach in Swedish. Proficiency in Swedish is a requirement for the position, as the majority of the course literature is in Swedish and addresses a Swedish-speaking context where examination tasks and other student texts must be read and provided feedback on in Swedish. Desirable and/or Meritorious Qualifications: Knowledge and previous experience in teaching within the areas relevant to the job responsibilities and position are considered meritorious. This includes areas such as professional supervision, conflict management, difficult conversations, and similar topics that the employer deems advantageous. Teaching experiences should be documented to allow for assessment of scope and quality. The applicant must possess the personal qualities necessary to perform the duties of the position effectively. Such personal qualities include flexibility, leadership skills, good collaboration abilities, and a sense of responsibility. When the university hires new teachers, candidates will be selected based on a qualitative overall assessment of competence and skill, determining who is best suited to carry out and develop the relevant tasks and contribute to a positive development of the department's activities. About the Position: Individual salary setting applies. The position is temporary until December 31, 2026. The scope is 20%. Start date is January 1, 2026, or as agreed. Location: Uppsala.
