Dalarna University is seeking a university lecturer in Business Administration with a specialization in Accounting for one of Sweden's most modern campuses located in central Borlänge. We offer campus-based education in Business Administration at both the bachelor’s and master’s levels and are currently developing our operations by implementing two bachelor’s programs that are offered remotely. Our campus-based economics program has a well-regarded focus on accounting. We conduct research in areas such as sustainable business practices, business development, CSR, leadership, marketing, entrepreneurship, and circular economy. Your Workday as a University Lecturer Dalarna University offers a varied position where you will have the opportunity to take responsibility for teaching, quality assurance, and course development within Business Administration, particularly in the area of accounting, contribute to the research environment, and engage with external stakeholders. Here, you will have considerable autonomy in your daily work, and your initiatives and collaborations within the subject and across disciplinary boundaries are highly valued. This position primarily involves teaching in the field of accounting. Teaching responsibilities include everything from course management to instruction, assessment, supervision, and evaluation of theses, both on-campus and remotely. As a lecturer, you are expected to teach in both Swedish and English. As a member of the department’s research group, you will play a key role in the development of research and are expected to actively seek research funding to create research opportunities beyond what is provided within the framework of the position. According to the Higher Education Ordinance and Employment Regulations, to be eligible for employment as a university lecturer in a non-artistic field, candidates must demonstrate pedagogical proficiency, hold a doctorate or possess equivalent scientific competence, or have other professional skills relevant to the subject matter and the tasks associated with the position. Scientific and pedagogical proficiency is assessed according to the criteria set forth in the employment regulations. In the selection process, we place great emphasis on personal suitability. You possess strong analytical skills, see the bigger picture, and are adept at communicating with individuals from diverse professional, cultural, and educational backgrounds. The role involves numerous interactions with students, colleagues, business representatives, and other stakeholders, which requires excellent collaboration skills. The work is largely independent, thus high demands are placed on responsibility, planning, and initiative. Leadership skills may also be of significance. For this position, the following qualifications are required: • A doctorate in Business Administration with a specialization in Accounting • Pedagogical proficiency • Experience in teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level and the ability to utilize digital tools to support teaching • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to teach in both Swedish and English. It is advantageous if you have: • Research credentials in the field of Business Administration with a focus on Accounting • Experience in leadership roles within academia or other organizations • Experience in collaboration with the business sector • Experience in research and development work, as well as successfully applying for and securing research funding within the subject area • Completed higher education pedagogical training As we place significant importance on pedagogical proficiency, candidates who do not already possess the requisite higher education pedagogical training are expected to acquire this competence within two years from the start of employment. Assessment Criteria In this recruitment, the university will consider candidates who, based on a qualitative overall assessment of scientific and pedagogical proficiency as well as other qualifications relevant to the position, are deemed to have the best prospects for fulfilling the responsibilities of the role. Equal attention will be given to the assessment of pedagogical proficiency as to scientific proficiency according to the Higher Education Ordinance, Chapter 4. A pedagogical test will likely be applied. For permanent appointments of university lecturers, expert assessments of the candidates' eligibility and proficiency will be conducted. A probationary period will be applied. Dalarna University operates at two locations. The place of employment for this position is Borlänge, but some activities may also take place in Falun.
