University of Gothenburg Library is one of the country's largest libraries and consists of eight libraries with different subject orientations. The library primarily serves the information needs of the University of Gothenburg but also has national and regional responsibilities.
The Social Sciences Libraries constitute one of the units and consist of four libraries that primarily serve students, researchers, and teachers at the IT Faculty, School of Business, Economics and Law, Faculty of Social Sciences, and Faculty of Education.
We are currently looking for someone to support our regular staff during the spring semester 2026. You will work in direct contact with our users. Positions have a service scope of 25-50%.
Work Tasks
The main task is to work outwardly in user interactions. This means providing support and service to our target groups through a pedagogical approach by answering questions and informing about university library services through various contact channels: information desks at our four libraries, chat, and telephone. Other standard librarian tasks may be included.
Qualifications
We are seeking someone with a library science degree. You have a pedagogical approach in user interactions. You are service-oriented and user-focused. You can work independently and have good collaboration skills. You contribute to creating a trustful and development-oriented work climate. You should communicate well in Swedish and English.
You should have experience working at a university or college library with similar tasks.
Employment
Positions are 25-50% located at the Social Sciences Libraries of University of Gothenburg Library. Work hours will be scheduled during daytime. Employment period is January 7, 2026 – June 7, 2026.
