The position is a fixed-term full-time (100%) appointment until April 15, 2026, with a start date of January 12. Your application must be submitted by December 7, 2025. **Job Responsibilities** The main responsibilities include teaching about Swedish preparedness in crises and wars, as well as in Peace and Conflict Studies. Administrative tasks related to teaching will also be included. The teaching will be at the undergraduate level and conducted in Swedish. **Eligibility Requirements** To be eligible for the position of University Lecturer, candidates must hold at least a Master's degree in Political Science or possess other professional qualifications relevant to the subject matter of the position and the tasks included in the appointment. **Criteria for Assessment and Balancing of These** The criteria for selection among eligible applicants are pedagogical and scientific competence in the areas of crisis preparedness and Peace and Conflict Studies. Particular emphasis will be placed on the applicant's knowledge and experience in crisis preparedness and crisis management issues. Significant weight will be given to experience in university teaching, especially in programs focused on Peace and Conflict Studies and crisis management, as well as experience in course development within the relevant subject area. A strong ability to conduct high-quality teaching, supervision, and assessment is essential. This ability should be based on a solid familiarity with the subject area of Peace and Conflict Studies. The assessment will also consider scientific competence. Independent research in the areas covered by the teaching is also important. The tasks require strong proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written. As a person, you are structured, solution-focused, and accustomed to working independently as well as in a team. A general requirement for all teaching categories at Umeå University is good collaboration skills, as well as the competence and suitability needed to perform the tasks effectively.
