At the Academy of Education, Culture, and Communication (UKK), our students primarily study programs in teacher education, but we also offer programs and courses in language and communication, mathematics/applied mathematics, physics, music, and opera, as well as the preparatory program for technical foundation year. MDU's research focus on educational science and mathematics is part of the academy. Our work is conducted in collaboration with the surrounding community and international partners.

Job Responsibilities
As a university lecturer, your primary responsibilities will be teaching. You will teach special education in all teacher programs as well as the special educator and special teacher programs. Teaching also includes supervision, examination, course evaluation, course development, course responsibility, and planning. Collaboration is an integral part of the university's research and educational mission, and as a university lecturer, you will actively contribute to the university's development work. The responsibilities also include general administration and professional development, as well as participating in daily operations within the subject and the academy.
Eligibility Requirements
We are looking for someone who has demonstrated pedagogical proficiency and holds a master's degree or equivalent qualifications relevant to the position.
The pedagogical proficiency must be documented in such a way that the quality of previous work can be assessed.
To be employed as a teacher at MDU, higher education pedagogical training or equivalent knowledge is required. Those who are hired but lack higher education pedagogical training will be offered the opportunity to complete such training during their employment within two and a half years. The higher education pedagogical training at Mälardalen University corresponds to ten weeks of education.
For this position, the following eligibility requirements apply in addition to those established in the Employment Regulations at MDU. You must have good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written.
Assessment Criteria
The assessment criteria will include the degree of proficiency required for the position, as well as the ability and suitability needed to perform the tasks effectively.
In addition to the assessment criteria established in the Employment Regulations at MDU, special emphasis will be placed on the following for this position:
• Teacher qualification,
• Special educator or special teacher qualification,
• At least five years of professional experience as a teacher.
In a comprehensive assessment of suitability, personal abilities will also be considered. All employees at MDU are expected to collaborate and treat colleagues and students with respect, take responsibility for their work and tasks, and contribute to a positive work environment. It is also important that you can take initiative and have the ability to work independently and in a structured manner.
