Within the department, there are four educational programs: Bachelor's program in investigative criminology, Bachelor's program in social work with a focus on international social work, the social work program, as well as a master's program and doctoral education in social work with a focus on health-promoting working life. Additionally, there are standalone courses and commissioned training. We are now seeking a temporary university lecturer in social work, starting in January 2026 or by agreement. The workplace is in Gävle, and most of the working hours will be on campus at the University of Gävle. Job responsibilities The position includes teaching, development work, and administration. Primarily, it involves teaching and course responsibility in the field of social work. Teaching will take place within the social work program and the Bachelor's program in social work with a focus on international social work. Furthermore, the role includes teaching in our commissioned training programs and participating in the department's research and development work in the field. Qualifications A degree in social work is required for the position. Additionally, documented pedagogical skills are required, as stated in the Higher Education Ordinance (1993:100) and the Employment Regulations at the University of Gävle. The applicant must demonstrate a very good ability to express themselves verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English, considering the content and responsibilities of the position. For the position, extensive experience working within Social Services is an advantage, preferably from various areas of Social Services operations. A doctoral degree in social work is also meritorious, as well as teaching experience from the social work program. Particular emphasis will be placed on personal qualities such as a good ability to collaborate and communicate effectively in both speech and writing. You should also be meticulous and capable of both taking and seizing initiatives. Conditions Temporary position, 6 months, with the possibility of extension.
