University Lecturer in Radiography - Permanent Position at the Department of Health Sciences Subject Area Subject area for the position: Radiography Background At the Department of Health Sciences, the Radiography Nursing Program serves both as a professional and research-preparatory program, where a close connection to clinical work and research is crucial. We are now seeking a licensed radiography nurse for a university lecturer position. There has been a long-standing collaboration in education and research between the department and Region Örebro County. This position is intended to ensure that the teaching mission is based on the most current methods and applications in radiography, and to establish alignment between the academic institution and the clinical settings where newly graduated licensed radiography nurses will be working. We are seeking an engaged employee who wants to participate in the development of the radiography nursing program both pedagogically and clinically. Job Responsibilities As a university lecturer, you will primarily focus on teaching, both theoretical and laboratory-based, primarily at the undergraduate level, along with related collaboration. Teaching includes course development, planning, examinations, supervision, and evaluation. Work responsibilities also include development work, administration, skills development, and staying current with knowledge development in the subject area. Qualifications Eligible for appointment as a university lecturer are those who have demonstrated pedagogical skills and hold a degree at least at the master's level (or equivalent) in a relevant field. Other theoretical competence combined with relevant experience in the subject area may be considered equivalent to a master's degree. A general qualification requirement for teaching positions is completed higher education pedagogical training equivalent to at least 10 weeks. Competence equivalent to higher education pedagogical training can be assessed and considered qualification-granting. A teacher who lacks higher education pedagogical training or equivalent competence at the time of appointment must complete the training within two years of taking up the position. Assessment Criteria At Örebro University, learning is grounded in scientific and proven experience, drawing from university pedagogical and didactic research and reflection. Teachers should have the ability to inform, collaborate with the surrounding society, and promote the utilization of university research. National and international experience and mobility will be considered. The applicant's suitability will also be assessed. Suitability refers to the applicant demonstrating personal qualities required to fulfill the current work tasks, ability to collaborate with other staff, and ability to contribute to the development of the operation. Pedagogical Skills At Örebro University, pedagogical skills are summarized in the categories of pedagogical approach, implementation of pedagogical approach, and professional development as a teacher. The applicant's pedagogical merits will be documented according to Örebro University's template for a pedagogical portfolio and clearly relate to the university's pedagogical fundamental view. Pedagogical skills should be demonstrated through previous merits from teaching or similar learning situations. Applicants should also be able to explain how a scientific approach is applied in teaching. When filling this position, great importance will be placed on the applicant's experience in course development, planning, and implementation of teaching and examinations. Additional Assessment Criteria The position requires good knowledge of various radiographic methods, especially in nuclear medicine. Being a licensed radiography nurse is also a requirement.
