Your Responsibilities
As a university lecturer with us, you will have a varied and developmental teaching role within preschool teacher programs. You will teach, supervise, examine, and participate in planning and developing courses - primarily within the program for pedagogically active professionals and courses concerning preschool pedagogy and validation, with a special focus on work-integrated learning (AIL).
You will also have a coordinating role in collaboration with school principals, contributing to building and further developing practice preschool activities. Commissioned education in preschool didactics may become part of your assignment. Your position also includes practice school visits and following research developments in your subject area. Teaching in English may occur.
Since the department currently conducts preschool and teacher education in Borås, Skövde, and Varberg, teaching may be placed at all these locations.
Your Qualifications
To be considered for the position, you need to have a master's degree in educational work or a related educational science area and demonstrate pedagogical proficiency. You are a licensed preschool teacher with a preschool teacher degree and have documented experience working in preschool activities. You also have documented experience teaching at the university level in the preschool pedagogical area and have worked with validation and crediting of pedagogically active professionals (AIL). Experience with practice school education (VFU) and work with practice preschools is also mandatory.
To communicate and teach effectively, you need good skills in both Swedish and English, spoken and written.
A general qualification requirement for a permanent teaching position is completed higher education pedagogical training equivalent to 10 weeks of full-time studies, or equivalent competence. An employee lacking higher education pedagogical training can complete the education during the first two years of employment.
Your Employment
Permanent position at 75% or by agreement. A six-month probationary period may be applied.
Start date January 1, 2026, or by agreement.
