At the Faculty of Law, exciting and interdisciplinary research and education in law are conducted. Our Law Program is one of the most sought-after program educations in the country, and our research is characterized by both breadth and specialized expertise. The department has expanded significantly in recent years and developed strong research environments. It currently has around 100 employees in the categories of teachers, researchers, doctoral students, and administrative staff. We have approximately 1,200 students in undergraduate and advanced level education. Job Responsibilities The position involves teaching at undergraduate and advanced levels, with primary instruction to be placed on advanced level courses in international law, international migration law, and theoretical issues related to equality, diversity, and non-discrimination. The work also includes teaching in social law. Additional assignments in international or public law at another institution outside the University of Gothenburg and in another location may be possible, as well as thesis supervision. Teaching and examination will be conducted both independently and in collaboration with other teachers. Teaching will primarily be conducted in-person. Qualifications This is a time-limited position as a university lecturer. Eligible candidates must have demonstrated pedagogical skills and hold a law degree. We place great emphasis on the candidate having the personal qualities required for the position and experience and expert knowledge in the relevant subjects for the role. A doctoral degree in international law is meritorious. Good collaboration skills and a positive approach towards students and colleagues are required, as is the ability to work independently and drive issues autonomously. Good knowledge of the Swedish language is a prerequisite for the position. The university will make a comprehensive assessment of competence and skills to employ the candidate deemed to have the best prerequisites for performing and developing the tasks. Eligibility Eligibility for teaching positions is regulated by the Higher Education Ordinance Chapter 4 and the University of Gothenburg's employment regulations. Eligible for employment as a university lecturer are those who have demonstrated pedagogical skills and completed higher education at least at an advanced level or have equivalent competence or other skills relevant to the subject content and job tasks. Employment This is a time-limited position, however no later than August 31, 2026, 50% at the Faculty of Law, University of Gothenburg. Commencement according to agreement.
