About this role

Department of Education (EDU) conducts research, doctoral education, undergraduate education, and commissioned education in pedagogy, didactics, and educational sociology. EDU also offers several master's programs. The department has approximately 250 employees, including around 175 teachers/researchers, 45 doctoral students, and 30 administrative staff. More information about the department can be found at http://www.edu.uu.se. Job Responsibilities: Teaching, administration, and supervision. The position primarily involves teaching in the preschool teacher program and commissioned education focusing on drama: oral performance (conflict management), practical leadership, reading and storytelling in preschool, and play-based drama emphasizing inclusion, as well as professional mentoring. Additionally, teaching in special education is included. Teaching in other programs and courses within the department's areas of operation may also occur. Teaching includes course responsibility, course administration, and course development. Course leadership assignments also involve information, curriculum, investigation, and evaluation work. Other duties according to local collective agreement. Qualifications: Eligible for employment as a university lecturer are those who have completed a degree with subject depth from higher education and demonstrated pedagogical skills. Requirements for this position include a teaching degree, college degree in drama pedagogy, and special education teaching certification. Practical experience supporting educational activities in relation to special education issues and experience in professional development mentoring are also required. The applicant must have practical experience working in contemporary preschools and schools. The applicant must be able to teach in Swedish. Merits: Particularly meritorious are those with experience in drama pedagogy and special education in higher education teaching. Authorized drama pedagogue with several years of experience working in preschool, primary, and secondary schools is especially advantageous. The applicant should possess the personal qualities necessary to perform the job effectively. Such qualities include flexibility, leadership skills, good collaboration abilities, and a sense of responsibility. The university will primarily consider the candidate who, after a qualitative overall assessment of competence and skills, is deemed to have the best prerequisites to carry out and develop current work tasks and contribute to a positive development of the operations. About the Position Individual salary setting is applied. The position is permanent (probationary period may be applied). Full-time at 100%. Commencement date January 1, 2026, or by agreement.
