The Department of Computer Science consists of 28 teachers who primarily teach within the Bachelor's Program in Computer Systems Development, the Engineering Programs in Computer Engineering and Environmental Engineering, the Master's Program in Computer Science, the IT Operations Technician Program, and the Technical Foundation Year. The department has strong connections with the surrounding community and industry and contributes significantly to the region's digital development.
The department is part of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, where education and research are conducted in several areas such as computer science, biology, biomedical laboratory science, environmental engineering, landscape science, and food and meal science.
**Job Responsibilities**
As a lecturer in computer science with a focus on programming, you will teach courses that cover the development of broad programming skills such as Python, JavaScript, C, or C++. Teaching in related subject areas may also be expected. You will teach in the Bachelor's Program in Computer Systems Development, the Engineering Program in Computer Engineering, the Master's Program in Computer Science, as well as independent courses, in both Swedish and English. Course responsibility and development of course materials are part of your role as a teacher. Supervising thesis work, collaborating with the surrounding community, and participating in development and research projects where your expertise in programming is needed are also part of the job. Additionally, administrative tasks related to teaching and development work are included.

**Qualifications and Requirements**
We are looking for someone with at least a Master's degree in computer science or a related field, or documented professional competence that is relevant to the subject matter of the position and the tasks included in the employment. You obviously have broad programming skills and work experience in areas relevant to the position. You have knowledge of Python, JavaScript, C, or C++. It is advantageous if you have teaching experience, and if you have taught at the university level, that is even better. It is also beneficial if you have some pedagogical training. You have excellent skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written. Your computer skills are good, and you are proficient in Windows, Linux, and MS Office.
Kristianstad University places great importance on the pedagogical skills of our employed teachers. Upon employment, you are expected to have completed a higher education pedagogical course of at least 15 credits or present equivalent knowledge; alternatively, completing such training will be included in your professional development plan during the first two years of employment.

You are pedagogical with a good understanding of how others absorb knowledge, their different conditions, and can adapt your message to your audience. The role requires a structured and quality-conscious approach as well as good problem-solving and analytical skills.
**Other Information**
The position is a permanent employment at 100%, with a start date to be agreed upon. We usually apply a probationary period. The location is in Kristianstad, on our beautiful campus with good bus connections and parking facilities. Teaching may, in some cases, be scheduled for evenings, weekends, or other locations. Applicants with completed doctoral education in a relevant subject area may apply for promotion to university lecturer.
