Department of Science, Design and Sustainable Development (NDH) operates on the Östersund and Sundsvall campuses, where we educate and conduct research within the department's subjects with a focus on sustainable development.
In Östersund, research and education are conducted in construction technology, eco-technology, environmental science, and environmental engineering.
The field of construction technology is interdisciplinary, focusing on sustainable construction and urban development. The subject collaborates with many different actors within and outside the university and has a strong regional presence with a regional industry council linked to the subject collegium.
We are seeking someone who is passionate about teaching and wants to be part of our subject collegium and our college engineering program, Construction Engineering in Sustainable Building 180 ECTS. The program has a strong environmental profile that permeates all courses and is offered both on the Östersund campus and remotely. The education is conducted in close collaboration with companies and authorities in the region.
Job Responsibilities
The position involves teaching, educational administration, and development work in the areas of building production, design, construction planning, and construction technology. Since many of the subject's courses are offered remotely, a large part of the teaching takes place via online learning platforms.
Qualifications

For eligibility as a university lecturer at Mid Sweden University, at least 180 higher education credits are required, comprising at least 90 higher education credits in the subject or equivalent in the subject area of the position. You should have broad competence within the aforementioned subject areas.
Assessment Criteria
The assessment criteria for hiring a university lecturer include the degree of proficiency required for eligibility. The evaluation of pedagogical skills should be given equal care as the assessment of other eligibility-establishing conditions.
Practical professional experience from the construction industry, as well as teaching experience, is required. You should be interested in collaborating and working on course development in close cooperation with local industry.
Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, is a requirement. Good knowledge of English is meritorious.

Employment and Commencement
The position is a 50% temporary position, from 2026-01-12 or by agreement/however no later than 26-06-30. There may be a possibility of extension.
