About this role

Ref: 20252631 The new Social Services Act opens opportunities to create a social service that can contribute to more actively supporting and protecting children and youth. We are now seeking you who want to help shape and influence the future of social services. Take the chance to contribute to this change. Job Responsibilities Youth Field Malmö is seeking more colleagues who can engage with youth moving around the city during evenings, nights, and weekends. We work preventatively with youth aged 12-21, focusing on those at risk of criminal behavior, substance abuse, or other conduct that may hinder positive development. Youth Field is divided into four geographical areas with four team members in each. You will conduct outreach work, with the majority of work done on foot. You will build relationships with youth and their parents outdoors, on social media, or via phone. You will identify youth at risk who may need to be directed to appropriate support services. You will regularly collaborate with police, schools, other social service units, civil society, and other actors working with youth in the city. Crime and drug prevention work is conducted from a clear administrative role. The assignment also includes work at various major youth events. Youth Field utilizes various conversation models, including Motivational Interviewing (MI), and you will have opportunities to develop skills in outreach and relationship-building conversations. We regularly work with feedback, method development, and team supervision. Youth Field Malmö is also part of Malmö City's crisis support organization and may be activated as crisis support during special events. These events can vary and require flexibility and psychological stability. Qualifications We are seeking candidates who: • Have a degree in social work, social pedagogy (vocational education, 400 points/2 years), or equivalent from folk high school • Have at least 2 years of social work experience • Have experience working with youth • Hold a B driver's license for manual transmission vehicles • Speak and write excellent Swedish Additional merits include: • Good knowledge of Malmö, both as a city and as a politically governed organization • Experience in field work • Experience collaborating with schools, other authorities, and civil society • Experience in municipal social services work • Knowledge of prevention work with the target group • Training in MI, Repulse, Solution-Focused approaches, or other relevant training • Familiarity with safety and security routines • Experience documenting in various systems • Language skills in the most common languages in Malmö • Experience working independently and in teams You feel comfortable approaching and conversing with youth and young adults and easily collaborate both internally and externally. In this work, you will encounter people with diverse experiences and backgrounds, so it's important to be attentive and able to listen and establish good rapport. The position involves extensive teamwork, so it's crucial that you can communicate effectively, build trusting relationships, and work together to achieve good results. It's also important that you are flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances. Work is primarily scheduled for evenings, nights, and weekends year-round, so we expect you to be comfortable working these hours regardless of weather or season. Day shifts occur, such as school field work or collaborative interventions. About the Workplace Youth Field Malmö consists of 16 employees led by two section managers in shared leadership.
