Youth Coach (Recreation Leader)

The Culture and Leisure Administration manages and operates the municipality's cultural and leisure facilities, including libraries, youth centers, cultural schools, theaters, and sports facilities. We also provide services and support to local associations. The position is located in the Active Leisure unit, which works with youth activities at the municipality's meeting places. The unit includes 5 youth centers, a mobile youth service, and FUNKA. Modern youth work constantly requires development and must therefore be based on a holistic view of young people's lives. It is built on volunteerism where we meet youth and always work from their own initiatives and interests, with the learning process in focus. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a youth coach with us, we work with wellness factors from a promotional perspective. We are inspired by and work to "boost" young people's self-esteem by providing them with the right tools and resources to implement their ideas. You will work in open youth activities at youth centers and collaborate with the mobile youth service focusing on engaging youth in rural areas. The work involves promoting participation, gender equality, and social sustainability, which requires collaboration with other administrative departments. The position includes day, evening, and weekend shifts. QUALIFICATIONS - Recreation leader education or equivalent higher education that the employer considers comparable. - Experience working with youth aged 12-19. - B driver's license required. You need the ability to create relationships with youth in a safe and trustworthy manner. You have experience leading, motivating, and inspiring individuals and groups. The work requires personal maturity and joy in working with young people. We have high requirements for social skills and an appropriate value base when working with youth, as well as good collaborative abilities and the capacity to create participation and engagement. We seek someone flexible and self-driven who can adapt to youth needs. We place great importance on personal suitability.
