About this role

Hematology Clinic is located in the O-house at Linköping University Hospital. We investigate, perform advanced treatments, and care for patients aged 18 and above with deficiency and tumor diseases in the hematopoietic system such as anemias, leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma. An important part of the clinic's operations is the highly specialized care regarding autologous and allogeneic stem cell transplantation. We have both planned and acute patient admissions, as well as close collaboration with our outpatient/day care unit. The ward has single rooms and isolation rooms with airlocks for transplant patients. Job Description We are now seeking a nursing assistant for a parental leave position at our hematology clinic's patient ward. As a nursing assistant with us, you will work with basic and specific care for hematological diseases. This includes, among other things: managing side effects from medical treatment, problems with nutrition and fluid balance, meal and hygiene service, personal ADL and mobilization. Additionally, venipuncture, monitoring and observation of vital parameters, risk assessments, and independent documentation. You will maintain high-quality nursing care, focus on patient-centered approach, and work together in a team with other professional categories. Almost all our patients are ambulatory when they arrive, become physically and mentally affected by their treatment, and then need support and help with personal care. Many patients return for treatment, with both short and long hospital stays. For us, it is important that the right person is in the right place. About You You are a trained nursing assistant with an examination certificate, and we prefer that you have several years of work experience as a nursing assistant, with experience in inpatient care being desirable. You have good Swedish language skills in both speaking and writing. You are computer-savvy and preferably have experience with the Cosmic journal system. You are confident, easy to communicate with, able to create contact with colleagues, patients, and relatives, and have a service-oriented approach. You are attentive to patients' needs and your colleagues' knowledge and experience. You have good collaborative abilities, which is necessary for teamwork. We see it as positive that you are interested in improving and developing the clinic's care quality. You can structure, organize, and prioritize your work and tasks. You are attentive and flexible, which means you can reschedule your work under changing conditions and maintain focus in stressful situations. Employment and Application The work is 24/7, which means day, evening, night, and weekend shifts according to the schedule.
