As a nursing assistant, you play a crucial role in society.
The Southern Archipelago Care and Nursing Home houses 40 residents, half of whom have a dementia diagnosis. We have around 40 care assistants and nursing assistants, and we also have a care supervisor and an administrator. Here, you are offered a job in a fantastic archipelago environment, close to the sea.
As a nursing assistant, you are the one who makes everyday life function and become meaningful. In your work, you focus on the resident's strengths and utilize the individual's resources. You motivate and stimulate the resident based on their individual conditions. Job tasks include personal care, meal support, encouragement and support in social activities, and collaboration with relatives.
Some tasks are performed on behalf of licensed personnel, such as nurses or rehabilitation staff. You are also a contact person who helps residents articulate their needs and wishes. The Southern Archipelago Care and Nursing Home is Star-Certified, which means staff have specialized training in dementia care. We work with multiple quality registers to evaluate and improve our residents' experience.
You will receive guidance from our care supervisor and support from your colleagues. When you start with us, you will work alongside an experienced colleague, allowing you to gradually grow into your professional role. Eventually, you will also have the opportunity to participate in our quality work, for example, as a representative for an in-depth area such as hygiene, activities, or palliative support.
We prepare breakfast and snacks in the units, while main courses and evening meals are delivered from our kitchen on Styrsö.
If you live on the mainland, you will need to take the boat from Saltholmen, a journey that takes approximately 20 minutes. The morning shift starts at 6:30 AM, and the latest shift ends at 9:00 PM. Our work hours are adapted to the boat schedule, but we recommend checking your travel time via Västtrafik's travel planner.
Work hours are scheduled for day, evening, and every other weekend. We use a base schedule, which allows you to plan your time and ensure statutory rest periods.

Qualifications
We are seeking candidates who are trained nursing assistants and can provide the National Board of Health and Welfare's certificate of protected professional title, or demonstrate that you were employed as a nursing assistant when the new regulations were introduced. The job requires computer proficiency for documentation in IT systems and good Swedish language skills in both speech and writing to communicate effectively with others.
Previous experience in care and nursing work is desirable but not required. Additional training in care and nursing is also meritorious.
In your role, you will meet many people, which means you must be able to work together with others to achieve common goals. You are respectful, open in your interactions, and always focus on the residents' best interests. Your workday may sometimes differ from the plan since you work with people, so you must remain calm, balance different requirements, and reprioritize your tasks.
